Unit by unit
Lessons follow the student's course. This is the kind of material we work through.
Reasoning and proof
Conditional statements, two-column and paragraph proofs
Angles and lines
Parallel lines, transversals and coordinate geometry
Triangles
Congruence, similarity, centers, inequalities and special right triangles
Quadrilaterals and polygons
Properties, classification, area and proofs
Circles
Arcs, chords, tangents, inscribed angles and equations of circles
Area and volume
Composite figures, surface area, prisms, cylinders, cones and spheres
Right-triangle trigonometry
SOH-CAH-TOA, elevation and depression
Advanced trigonometry
Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, the unit circle, graphs and identities
Where students get stuck
Proofs feel impossible
We show how to find the next statement instead of staring at a blank page.
Diagrams hide the answer
Students learn what to mark first and what each relationship allows.
Trig feels like memorization
We build it from right triangles and the unit circle, so formulas have meaning.

How can a student get better at proofs?
By learning how to plan: mark the diagram, list what's given, and work backward from what must be shown. Then we practice turning that plan into statements and reasons.
When do you use the Law of Sines or Law of Cosines?
Use the Law of Sines when you know an angle and its opposite side. Use the Law of Cosines for two sides with the included angle, or three sides.
Are geometry formulas worth memorizing?
A few are essential, but understanding how they relate reduces memorization. We focus on where formulas come from and when to use them.
Can you work with honors or accelerated classes?
Yes. Send the syllabus or recent assignments, and we'll match the level.
